According to many legends, mermaids are believed to be a symbol of beauty and strength. It is said that mermaids have the upper body of a human and a tail much like a fish’s.

Despite their frequent appearances in fairy tales, folklores, legends, and even movies, the existence of mermaids is still a mystery. Many claim to have spotted this creature, providing videos and photos to support their story. Nonetheless, the evidence showing the existence of mermaids is still questionable. Many scientists, on the other hand, believe that mermaids are simply a figment of sailors’ imagination who mistook them for the aquatic creature, dugong. The question is, do mermaids really exist or are they simply a fictional creature? The answer to this question is,  unfortunately, yet to be found.

For humans to be able to discover the secrets buried in the depths of the ocean is rather far-fetched and thus we have use our own imagination when creating stories on deep sea creatures. Mermaids, in my personal opinion, possess a strong character and this has led to their presence in legends for the longest time.

It is this strength of character that has motivated me to write a story on mermaids and it is my hope that through this story, many more will be inspired to discover the truth about this fascinating creature.
