In 1974, the International Council of Museums has defined a museum as an institution which is non-profitable, with a mission to serve the community and a place permanently open for public viewing. Other than to achieve the objectives in conducting research, to educate and for the pleasure of viewing, it’s mission is to also collect, preserve, conserve, share and exhibit the cultural
heritage.
The English "museum" comes from the Latin word, Mouseion, which denotes a place or temple dedicated to Muses (the patron divinities in Greek mythology of the arts), and hence a building set apart for study and the display of a series of collections in astronomy, geographical, medicinal and cultural art objects.
In Ancient Greek itself, there was already the existence of a special centre collecting prints, jewelry, sceptera and other precious ornaments. These type of treasure collection centres were also found in other countries in Europe.
The many fantasy creatures that appeared in the Nordic mythology, were they merely imagination of the ancient people in the legendary stories? Were these creatures living in the world that we have yet to discover?
The mysterious museum is a story reuniting the fantasy world and the unknown world...
